Surat: The landmark Surat Diamond Bourse (SDB) will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 17. It will be the world’s biggest office complex, larger than the famous Pentagon in the United States. Vallabh Lakhani, Chairman of the SDB, expressed his excitement about the upcoming event, sharing, “A delegation from the SDB diamond bourse committee had the privilege of meeting Prime Minister Modi under the leadership of Gujarat BJP President CR Paatil on August 2, where we extended a heartfelt invitation for the inauguration. After discussions with PM Modi, we jointly decided on December 17 as the momentous day for the SDB inauguration.”

Lakhani added, “Prime Minister Modi has graciously consented to inaugurate the SDB project. The inauguration ceremony will be conducted in a grand fashion, with the entire world witnessing this historic event.”

Preparations for the grand inauguration are already in full swing, with invitations being extended to eminent diamond businessmen and dignitaries from both India and across the globe. The SDB has an impressive capacity of 4,200 offices, and every effort is being made to ensure their full functionality before the inauguration date.

The SDB complex is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including services for valuation, weighing, certification, and boiling of diamonds. In addition, the bourse will offer all essential office stationery, tools, equipment, and services required by the diamond industry, further solidifying its position as a comprehensive and world-class center for the diamond trade.
