PM Modi to lead 150th birth anniversary celebration of Sardar Patel at Statue of Unity

Ektanagar gears up for a spectacular National Unity Day parade and Bharat Parv 2025, celebrating Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s 150th birth anniversary with PM Modi.

Ahmedabad | Gujarat — The 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the architect of a united India, will be celebrated on October 31 at the Ektanagar Statue of Unity, in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi,  highlighting the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’.

With the inspiration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel is celebrated as National Unity Day across the country.

National level programs are organized every year at the Statue of Unity, the tallest statue of Sardar Saheb in the world, in the inspiring presence of the Prime Minister.

This year, a grand and unique celebration of National Unity Day has been organized in multiple ways to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Saheb.

A moving parade will be organized on October 31 at Ektanagar this year on the pattern of the parade held on Republic Day in New Delhi every year on January 26.

Chief Secretary  Pankaj Joshi and Director General of Police Vikas Sahay gave a detailed account of the entire work planning of this grand celebration.

Joshi said that a total of 16 contingents from BSF, CISF, ITBP, CRPF, SSB, J&K, Punjab, Assam, Tripura, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and NCC will participate in this parade of National Unity Day.

Not only this, 16 medal winners of BSF from Operation Sindoor and five Shaurya Chakra winners of CRPF will also join this parade in an open gypsy.

This parade will be led by about 100 members of the Heralding Team with various colorful costumes and different musical instruments.

Nine band contingents are also going to join the Unity Parade, reciting catchy tunes. In addition, two school bands from Gujarat, who won at the state level and two school bands, who won at the national level school band competition, will also perform band displays by four school bands.

The Chief Secretary and Director General of Police said that the programs that embody the mantra given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the countrymen from the ramparts of the Red Fort, ‘States are one nation, society is one India, language is one culture and color is one, and tricolor is one’ will make the celebration of this Unity Parade and National Unity Day more dignified.

In this context, he said that cultural programs that give a glimpse of the cultural heritage of various states of the country will also be organized on this occasion under the initiative of the Ministry of Culture, Government of the Union.

When Prime Minister Narendrabhai Modi will attend the parade and various programs after worshipping the statue of Sardar Saheb, he will be given a guard of honor by the contingents of the Central Security Forces and Gujarat Police and the entire program will begin in a grand manner.

In this parade, various tableaux based on the theme of ‘Unity’ will be displayed, in which 10 tableaux will be presented by different states and CAPFs showing their specialties and achievements. These tableaux will be presented by NDRF, NSG, Jammu Kashmir, Andaman and Nicobar, Puducherry, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Manipur, Chhattisgarh and Uttarakhand.

Apart from this, the Indian Air Force will fly past under Operation Suryakiran and a joint rifle drill by women personnel of CRPF and Gujarat Police, Hell March by NSG, Motorcycle Daredevil Show by Assam Police and Indian Breed Dog Show by BSF, Traditional Martial Arts by women personnel of CISF and ITBP, Band Display by SSB and NCC Cadets will also be the center of attraction for the people.

He added that in order to ensure that more and more people can watch this Ekta Parade, the seating arrangement has also been increased this year and arrangements have been made so that more than 11,500 people can watch the parade.

In addition, the Statue of Unity has also launched a National Unity Day portal on which anyone can join the programs of this Ekta Parade by registering online.

The Chief Secretary and Director General of Police said that every year on the occasion of National Unity Day, the Department of Personnel and Training of the Central Government organizes the inaugural program at Ektanagar. This year, about 660 trainees of Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy for Administration-LBSNAA are going to participate in this program.

A drama performance ‘Lohpurush’ highlighting the life story of Sardar Saheb will also be presented on this occasion by the National School of Drama under the initiative of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.

Pankaj Joshi and Vikas Sahay added that this year, as a triple celebration of Prakash Parv Diwali, New Year and Sardar Saheb’s birth anniversary, beautiful lighting and cultural programs will be seen at Ektanagar from 17 October to 15 November under the Prakash Parv.

For this purpose, the road leading to the Valley of Flowers at Ektanagar has been divided into 13 theme-based zones and ceiling lights, road side illumination articles and photo-selfie points have been set up in each zone.

Iron Man Sardar Patel has built a united India, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made it a stronger nation with the mantra of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’. This year, on the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Saheb, Bharat Parv 2025 has also been grandly organized at Ektanagar from 1 to 15 November.

Giving detailed details of this organization, the Chief Secretary and the Director General of Police said that people will get an opportunity to see a glimpse of the culture that reflects our uniqueness in unity in diversity from one place during this festival.

He added that during these 15 days, 45 food stalls, 55 handicraft and handloom stalls, pavilions of various states and cultural exhibitions of 28 states and 8 union territories are to be organized.

Under Bharat Parva-2025, cultural presentations of different states of the country will highlight traditional art and culture every evening from 1 to 15 November.

The 150th birth anniversary of the God of the tribes, Birsa Mundaji, is also being celebrated this year, in the occasion of which a special presentation is to be organized on Birsa Munda Jayanti at Ektanagar.

Along with this, 45 food stalls serving traditional food dishes of various states and union territories and a live studio kitchen are also planned.

The Chief Secretary and Director General of Police added that a cyclothon event will be organized at SoU at the end of the 15-day celebration of Bharat Parva at Dam View Point-1, in which a cycling fun ride with special dignitaries of the Government of India and Gujarat will be organized on November 16 and a cyclothon competition will be organized on November 17 in collaboration with the Sports Department of the Government of Gujarat.

Approximately five thousand cyclists from across the country will participate in this competition.

He said that the final touches have been given to the Rashtriya Ekta Divas celebration programs to be held in the inspiring presence of Prime Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi and the Prakash Parv at Ektanagar has become an attraction for lakhs of people during the Deepavali festivals.

The Chief Secretary and Director General of Police said that this solemn celebration of National Unity Day will be a unique festival that will strengthen patriotism among the people and highlight the spirit of Nation First, inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
