PM Modi Launches 10 New Vande Bharat Express Trains, Unveils Multi-Billion Dollar Rail and Petrochemical Projects

Ahmedabad : In a monumental stride towards bolstering India’s railway infrastructure and connectivity, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated 10 new Vande Bharat Express trains, alongside a series of groundbreaking railway and petrochemical projects, totaling over Rs. 1,06,000 crores. The event, held at the Dedicated Freight Corridor’s Operation Control Centre in Ahmedabad, marks a pivotal moment in India’s journey towards modernizing its transportation networks and fostering economic growth.

Prime Minister Modi’s address was marked by a flurry of inaugurations and groundbreaking ceremonies, underscoring the government’s unwavering commitment to transforming India’s railway sector. Among the key highlights were the foundation laying of railway workshops, loco sheds, and coaching depots, symbolizing the dawn of a new era in railway infrastructure development.

The Prime Minister also inaugurated two new sections of the Dedicated Freight Corridor, spanning from New Khurja to Sahnewal in the Eastern DFC and from New Makarpura to New Gholvad in the Western DFC. These corridors promise to revolutionize freight transportation, enhancing efficiency and reducing transit times.

The unveiling of 10 new Vande Bharat Express trains heralds a leap forward in passenger connectivity, linking major cities across the country with high-speed, state-of-the-art trains. Additionally, extensions of existing Vande Bharat routes and the introduction of new passenger services underscore the government’s commitment to enhancing travel convenience and accessibility.

Furthermore, Prime Minister Modi flagged off freight trains on the Dedicated Freight Corridor, showcasing the seamless integration of rail logistics for efficient cargo movement. The dedication of Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendras at railway stations reflects the government’s focus on healthcare accessibility, providing affordable and quality medicines to railway passengers and communities.

The inauguration of Gati Shakti Multi-Modal Cargo Terminals and the implementation of automatic signaling systems underscore India’s push towards modernizing transportation infrastructure and facilitating smoother intermodal freight movement.

The inauguration of Ekta Malls in Gujarat and Maharashtra signifies the government’s emphasis on promoting indigenous crafts and products, fostering economic empowerment at the grassroots level..

Boosting Local Businesses and Aatmanirbhar Bharat

The event wasn’t just about mega-projects. The Prime Minister inaugurated over 1500 “One Station One Product” stalls across the country. This initiative aims to empower local artisans and businesses by providing a platform to sell their products at railway stations.

Petrochemical Expansion and Job Creation

The foundation stone for a massive Petrochemicals complex worth over Rs 20,000 crores was laid in Dahej, Gujarat. This project is expected to create significant employment opportunities and contribute to India’s self-reliance (Aatmanirbhar Bharat) in the petrochemical sector.

A Vision for the Future

PM Modi addressed the nation, highlighting the government’s commitment to transforming the railways. He emphasized the six-fold budget increase for railways since 2014 and promised an even more significant transformation in the coming years.

The Prime Minister concluded by underlining the dedication to building a modern and robust railway network, a crucial pillar for a developed India. He called upon the citizens to cooperate in this ongoing celebration of development.
