Novel organic liquid nutrient developed by NAU to reach 35 countries in the Americas
On Wednesday, NAU announced its second International Technology transfer agreement with Novel Holding Inc, the USA for the commercial scale production and marketing of Novel Organic Liquid nutrients in the Americas
Navsari (Gujarat) [India]: Novel, an organic liquid nutrient based on banana pseudostems developed and patented by Navsari Agriculture University (NAU), will be produced and marketed in over 35 countries in the Americas.
On Wednesday, NAU announced its second International Technology transfer agreement with Novel Holding Inc, the USA for the commercial scale production and marketing of Novel Organic Liquid nutrients in the Americas. Novel will be manufactured in the United States for distribution in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, and other parts of the Americas.
Dr. ZP Patel, vice-chancellor of NAU signed an agreement for the commercial scale production and marketing of Novel in 35 countries of the US. Novel will be used as agro input in all the crops produced across the Americas. The agreement was signed in the presence of the Director of Research Dr.T.R. Ahlawat, Research Scientist Dr.J.M. Patel, and Dr.Chirag Desai.
Novel is the brainchild of former vice chancellor of NAU, Dr. RPS Ahlawat. The research project was taken up in 2008-09 by a team of experts from NAU led by Dr. RPS Ahlawat, Dr. Chirag Desai, Dr. JM Patel, Dr.Patil, and Dr.Kolambe.
“It is a proud moment for us that the novel developed by NAU has reached farmers all over India and is now reaching a developed country like the United States,” said Dr.ZP Patel, vice-chancellor of NAU. “NAU’s organic technology will benefit farmers in over 35 countries across the Americas.” Until now, NAU has reached agreements with 40 Indian companies for the production and marketing of Novel.”
“Research at the NAU is still ongoing to discover different Novel variants, and agricultural scientists are working to maximise the benefits to farmers in the coming years,” Dr. Patel said.
According to Dr. Patel, NAU has been approached by many companies from Europe, Australia, South Korea, and other countries, and Novel may soon be reaching farming communities in developed countries.
“We are very proud that our invention of Novel organic liquid nutrient will reach farmers in the US,” NAU scientist Dr. Chirag Desai said. Novel will increase crop yield while avoiding the use of hazardous chemicals by farmers. We are in contact with many other developed countries to transfer technology.”
