While the predicted downpours are unlikely to be heavy, even light showers could dampen the festive spirit at the summit. Bhavnagar, Tapi, Navsari, Valsad, Narmada, Surat, Dang, Daman, Dadra, and Nagar-Haveli are especially at risk of experiencing the wet weather.

Ahmedabad : The upcoming Vibrant Gujarat Summit in Gandhinagar might face a sprinkle of uncertainty, as the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts mild rain in several parts of the state, including the host city, over the next 24 hours. This unseasonal drizzle, a rare occurrence in January, could disrupt the much-anticipated event.

“These unseasonal rains are likely due to a western disturbance moving across the region,” explained a senior IMD official. “The intensity is expected to be light, with isolated areas receiving heavier showers.”

South Gujarat and parts of Southern Saurashtra have already witnessed a taste of the impending showers, with Valsad, Daman, Dadra, and Nagar-Haveli reporting drizzles on Monday. While welcome as a respite from the usual January dryness, the rains could pose logistical challenges for the Vibrant Gujarat organizers.

Despite the meteorological curveball, organizers remain optimistic. “We are closely monitoring the weather situation and have contingency plans in place to ensure the smooth conduct of the summit,” assured a spokesperson. “The event will proceed as scheduled, and we are confident in offering a successful experience for all participants.”
