LPG Cylinder Blast Injures 7 in Surat

Surat : About seven youths preparing food for the catering service sustained serious burns injuries–one is said to be critical– in the LPG cylinder blast at Krishna complex in Phulpada area in Surat on Wednesday morning.
Sources said the blast took place in a 15×15 room located on the second floor of Krishna complex. About 10 persons were present inside the room when the incident occured. The injured were immediately shifted to the Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) run SMIMER hospital, while one person was shifted in a critical condition at Kiran hospital.
According to information, food was being prepared for the caterers by around 10 youths in a 15 by 15 room at second floor Krishna Complex Phoolpada, AK Road. The cooking was being done on two stoves and there were as many as three gas cylinders. One of the LPG cylinders blasted due to the leakage after one of the cooks used the lighter to start cooking.
The victims have been identified as Anant Paswan, Balaram Paswan,Mithun Paswan,Sagar Paswan,Badal Paswan,Changora Paswan, and Pradyumna Paswan.
The young man who lit the stove with a lighter got more burns due to the explosion after the gas cylinder leakage. While six other youths were also burnt due to this fire. A total of seven youths were burnt. The doors and windows of the room were also broken due to gas cylinder blast. The fire department was informed about the incident. However, the fire department reached and shifted all the youths to the hospital.
All seven youths have been shifted to Kiran Hospital for further treatment Along with this, the condition of the young man who started the stove with a lighter is very serious. As many as six other youths have suffered burns including hands and feet.
