VADODARA,GUJARAT : As the sun rose over Vadodara, a unique sight unfolded at Navyug School in Fatehgunj. A man, adorned in attire reminiscent of Lord Hanuman, wielding a mace in hand with ‘Shree Ram’ emblazoned across his chest, arrived promptly at 7 am to exercise his franchise. This striking display of faith and civic duty marked the commencement of voting for the Lok Sabha elections in Vadodara amidst sweltering heatwave conditions.

Despite the scorching temperatures, long queues formed at polling stations across the city, reflecting the eagerness of voters to participate in the democratic process. The administrative machinery, bolstered by a robust deployment of police personnel, worked tirelessly to ensure a peaceful and orderly polling experience in Vadodara city district.

In the seven assembly constituencies comprising the Vadodara Lok Sabha seat, voters braved the warm weather to cast their ballots. Among them was BJP candidate Hemang Joshi, who, accompanied by his family, voted at a polling station in Vemali after seeking blessings at the Hanumanji temple in Harani.

At Fatehgunj Navayug School, the presence of Deepak Shastri, dressed as Lord Hanuman, added a touch of spiritual fervor to the voting process. Chanting mantras before casting his vote, Shastri invoked blessings for the peaceful completion of the polling festival. Reflecting on the significance of the moment, he emphasized the recent consecration of the Ram temple as a source of pride for Hindu society, attributing its success to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Prior to heading to the polling booth, Shastri had conducted a yagna at his residence, praying for thee smooth conduct of the electoral process.

The convergence of faith and democracy resonated deeply in Vadodara as citizens exercised their right to vote amidst challenging circumstances. Beyond political affiliations, the act of voting symbolized a collective commitment to shaping the future of the nation. As the electoral process unfolds, Vadodara stands as a testament to the enduring spirit of democracy, where every vote carries the weight of conviction and responsibility.
