Joram film by Zee Studios and Makhija Films selected for International Film Festival Rotterdam
Manoj Bajpai stars as the film's protagonist, a father who, along with his daughter, goes on the run to get away from his violent past
Mumbai : Zee Studios and Makhija Films are overjoyed that their newest production, Joram, has been accepted into the prestigious International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR). Only one other Indian film, a short called Joram, was shortlisted.
Manoj Bajpai stars as the film’s protagonist, a father who, along with his daughter, goes on the run to get away from his violent past and the people who want him dead. Zeeshan Ayub, Rajshree Deshpande, Tannishtha Chatterjee, and Smita Tambe are also members of the talented cast. Pankaj Batra is the film’s Co-Producer and Executive Producer, while Devashish Makhija and Anupama Bose are the film’s Producers.
We are thrilled that Joram was chosen to screen at the Rotterdam International Film Festival. Being the sole Indian feature-length film to make the festival’s cut is a tremendous honour. We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to screen this powerful film at such an esteemed event, and we wish its message the greatest possible exposure. Joram’s co-producer and exec producer, Pankaj Batra, made that statement. As an Executive Producer, Pankaj Batra played a key role in the success of “Almost Pyaar with DJ Mohabbat,” a film helmed by Anurag Kashyap and starring Vicky Kaushal, Alaya F, and Karan Mehta.
The films, shorts, and media art presented at IFFR are renowned for their excellence. In addition to retrospectives and thematic programming, the festival primarily serves to introduce audiences to the work of promising new directors. The International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) is well-known for its promotion of innovative filmmakers through its co-production market CineMart, Hubert Bals Fund, Rotterdam Lab, and other events.
