IRCC extends Super Visa for immigrants from three to five years in Canada

Surat (Gujarat) [India]: There is some good news for the parents and grandparents of the NRIs settled in Canada. The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has announced that the length of a Super Visa shall be extended from 3 years to 5 years and the Super Visa holders have an option to extend their visas for more than 2 years starting from July 4.

Immigration Minister of Canada, Sean Fraser recently announced that the draw for express entry applicants will start from
July 6, 2022, and it will be conducted for all programmes i.e Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) and Canadian Experience Class (CEC).

Krutarth J. Patchigar, Immigration Attorney, Washington USA told TBT, “The IRCC has made a major announcement. Over 17,000 Super Visas are issued by IRCC for Canadians to reunite with their parents and grandparents in Canada. Hence, such an extension of 5 years shall be a boon for the Indians wanting to reunite with their children and grandchildren settled in Canada”

According to Patchigar, the FSW program was inactive since December 2020, and the CEC program was inactive since September 2021. As per the Canadian guideline, the Federal High Skilled category target in 2023 is approximately 75,750 immigrants.

Candidates with a high CRS Score shall be given priority. Hence, Candidates with fewer CRS scores shall take approximately four months in the draw. So, the probability of them getting selected in the draw will be in November, said Patchigar.

“Looking at the current scenario it seems that Canada is ready to welcome the new immigrant which is booming news for aspiring candidates to visit Canada through PR (Permanent Resident)” said Patchigar.
