Indonesia Invites Surat Entrepreneurs to 40th Trade Expo 2025

Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in New Delhi visited the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) to invite Surat-based entrepreneurs to participate in the 40th Trade Expo Indonesia, scheduled from October 15 to 19, 2025.

Surat, Gujarat — In a significant boost to international trade ties, top diplomats from the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in New Delhi visited the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) to invite Surat-based entrepreneurs to participate in the 40th Trade Expo Indonesia, scheduled from October 15 to 19, 2025.

The visiting delegation included Erain Muhammad Akbar, Minister Counsellor (Economic), Maulana Syahid, Minister Counsellor, and Mohamad Haykal, Deputy Director of the Indonesia Trade Promotion Center in Chennai. The officials held detailed discussions with SGCCI office-bearers and prominent entrepreneurs from Surat’s food, agriculture, manufacturing, and lifestyle sectors.

“The upcoming Trade Expo in Indonesia is a golden opportunity for Indian businesses. We invite the vibrant entrepreneurial community of Surat to exhibit and network with global buyers across sectors like food and beverages, agriculture, manufacturing products, and lifestyle goods,” said Iren Muhammad Akbar, addressing the chamber.

He emphasized Indonesia’s growing trade links with India and how Surat’s industrial strength aligns perfectly with the expo’s focus. “We believe Surat’s participation will deepen Indo-Indonesian economic cooperation,” Akbar added.

SGCCI President Nikhil Madrasi responded positively, announcing that a delegation from Surat will be sent to participate in the expo. “Surat is a hub of innovation and quality manufacturing. We are proud to represent our city’s industries on global platforms like the Trade Expo Indonesia,” said Madrasi.

The meeting was also attended by SGCCI Vice President Ashok Jirawala, former President Vijay Mewawala, Acting Honorary Minister Bhavesh Taylor, Group Chairman Sanjay Punjabi, and SGCCI Global Connect CEO Paresh Bhatt, along with dozens of entrepreneurs.

The Trade Expo Indonesia 2025 is expected to draw thousands of global buyers and exhibitors, and the SGCCI’s proactive move marks another milestone in Surat’s global trade journey.
