Kathmandu [Nepal]: Mount Kanchenjunga in Nepal has claimed the life of an Indian climber.

According to the expedition agency Pioneer Adventures, Narayan Iyer, 52, an Indian climber breathed his last at an altitude of 8,200 meters. Mt. Kanchanjunga is the world’s third-highest peak.

The deceased was ascending from the altitude of 8,200 meters when he breathed his last.

“Despite he was warned not to move above 8,000 meters, he kept on climbing and collapsed at 8,200-meter altitude,” said Nivesh Karki, managing director of Pioneer Adventures. “The family members of the deceased climber have been informed about the incident”

Meanwhile, the expedition organizers are yet to bring down the body of Iyer from the mountain. The team is working hard to retrieve the body from 8,200 meters altitude, but it is considered a death zone.
