New Delhi [India]: In the latest development in the fight against Covid-19, India has developed mRNA technology to protect persons suffering from coronavirus infection.

The Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) based in Hyderabad has announced the development of the country’s first potential-mRNA vaccine candidate to fight against SARS-CoV-2. The mRNA platform has the advantage of the flexibility of inoculation which is not with other vaccine platforms in India.

mRNA technology is based on lipid formulation and injected directly into the body of the affected person. The vaccine makes the spike protein, which stimulates protective antibodies to fight the coronavirus disease.

Scientists claim that western countries were using the mRNA vaccine for the pandemic, but it did not penetrate other countries across the world. Considering the constant shift of variant concerns, the mRNA vaccine has been quickly redesigned.

On the other hand, the mRNA vaccine is cost-effective compared to other vaccines available on the market.
