Bangalore: As India accelerates its transition toward cleaner and more sustainable energy solutions, Hycons Renewable Private Limited is emerging as a significant player in the country’s Bio-CNG and waste-to-energy sector. Originally founded in 2011 as a proprietary venture and formally incorporated as a private limited company in 2019, Hycons has steadily built a reputation as a technology-driven renewable energy company specializing in biogas and compressed biogas solutions across India.
Building a Strong Foundation in Bio-CNG Innovation
Hycons began with a clear mission: to make renewable fuels commercially viable by combining scientific research with practical engineering expertise. Over the years, the company has invested extensively in research and development to enhance anaerobic digestion, biogas purification, and gas compression technologies. These efforts have led to nearly a 50 percent reduction in capital expenditure for Bio-CNG plants, significantly improving their commercial feasibility and scalability.
By converting agricultural residues, organic waste, and dedicated energy crops into clean fuel, Hycons addresses two pressing national challenges—effective waste management and strengthening energy security.
Strategic Collaboration with GAIL
Hycons has established a strategic partnership with GAIL under the CBG-CGD synchronization framework, facilitating seamless integration of Bio-CNG into existing city gas distribution networks. This collaboration positions Hycons as a trusted EPC partner delivering Bio-CNG projects across India, supported by exclusive supply linkages with Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs).
Pioneering Integrated Bio-Energy Parks
Hycons’ defining milestone—the development of integrated Bio-Energy Parks—took formal shape in 2026 under Hycons bioenergy Parks Private Limited. What started with production volumes of just a few hundred kilograms has grown steadily, with a firm commitment to achieve 50 TPD and a clear roadmap toward 100 TPD.
The company is spearheading the creation of India’s first CBG park, designed to host 10 Bio-CNG units within a single, unified ecosystem. These units range individually from 300 kg/day plants to 15 TPD facilities, with a proposed collective production capacity of 100 TPD of compressed biogas.
Through shared infrastructure and centralized utilities, this model significantly reduces capital and operational costs, improves efficiency, and enables rapid scalability—offering a replicable framework for nationwide deployment. The concept marks a shift from standalone plants to collaborative bioenergy ecosystems, accelerating the growth of India’s renewable gas industry.
India’s Only CBG Park Utilizing Napier Grass as a Primary Feedstock
Hycons distinguishes itself as the only Bio-CNG park in India utilizing Napier grass as a primary feedstock. Known for its high biomass yield and resilience, Napier supports consistent gas production while delivering notable agricultural benefits. Its cultivation helps regenerate barren land, mitigate soil erosion, and enhance soil fertility.
By bringing nearly 4,800 acres of marginal land under cultivation, Hycons is creating additional income opportunities for farmers and strengthening rural economies. This integrated approach combines clean energy generation with sustainable agricultural practices, producing measurable socioeconomic impact.
Leadership Driving Sustainable Growth
At the helm of Hycons’ growth is its Founder and Director, Jaipal Reddy T N, whose background in renewable energy and biotechnology shapes the company’s long-term vision. Under his leadership, Hycons has evolved into a specialized Bio-CNG EPC organization focused on scalable, cost-efficient, and environmentally responsible solutions.
Contributing to India’s Clean Energy Transition
Today, Hycons Renewable Private Limited operates at the intersection of technology, sustainability, and national energy priorities. Through its integrated Bio-Energy Parks, innovative feedstock strategies, and alignment with India’s clean fuel initiatives, the company is playing a meaningful role in advancing energy independence and supporting the country’s transition toward a low-carbon future.
