Gujarat Police Leaves Cancelled Ahead of PM Modi Visit

In-charge DGP K.L.N. Rao orders statewide leave ban to ensure security during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s multi-city Gujarat tour

Gandhinagar | Gujarat — Following the three day long visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the incharge police chief has cancelled the leaves of all police personnel and officers across Gujarat starting from Janaury 7 to January 12. The police personnel on leave have been instructed to report immediately and there is an embargo on the leave in the police department. 

Official sources said that Gujarat’s in-charge Police Chief K.L.N. Rao, keeping in mind the fact that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to visit Gujarat, has issued a state-wide circular to the police department, cancelling the leaves of all the police personnel.This decision has been taken keeping in mind the flower show and the upcoming festival.

The Prime Minister is going to attend programs to be held in various districts and cities of Gujarat from January 10 to 12. Preparations have been started to make the stringent security arrangements. Meanwhile, in order to maintain law and order and to ensure the security of dignitaries from home and abroad, a circular has been issued by the Inspector General of Police and Chief Police Officer of the state, according to which the leave of all police officers and employees of the state has been banned with immediate effect.

Those on leave instructed to report for duty immediately

As per the circular, no policeman will be able to take leave during the period from 7 to 12 January 2026. Those employees who are currently on leave have also been instructed to shorten their leave and report for duty immediately.

All officers have been strictly ordered not to leave the headquarters, giving priority to the arrangements for the arrival of the Prime Minister. All important departments of the state such as ACB, CID, Intelligence and Railway Police have been kept on a high alert. Meanwhile, the police force has been kept on stand-by mode in the entire state including Gandhinagar.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting Somnath on January 10 and 11. For the first time in the history of Somnath, Prime Minister Modi will hold a 2 km long road show, in which 108 horses will participate, which has created enthusiasm and excitement in the entire area. Apart from this, the Sadbhavna Ground where Narendra Modi will address the public has a connection with Narendra Modi from the year 2012, i.e. 14 years ago.
