Surat : Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sanghavi finds himself on the verge of losing his ministerial position following allegations of misuse of power. The BJP high command has expressed profound displeasure over Sanghavi’s alleged direct involvement in pressuring the Special Operations Group (SOG) police in Ahmedabad to target and defame a fellow BJP worker. This alleged interference is said to have been carried out at the behest of his close friend and former Gujarat BJP general secretary, Pradipsinh Vaghela.
The allegations against Sanghavi came to light through Navajivan News and its founder, Prashant Dayal. According to Dayal, Sanghavi purportedly engaged with the SOG police and its deputy commissioner in Ahmedabad to apprehend the BJP worker, who was accused of defaming Pradipsinh Vaghela. This led to a harrowing ordeal for the BJP worker and his entire family at the hands of the SOG police, acting on the directive of Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sanghavi.
The incident has not escaped the attention of the BJP high command, resulting in extensive deliberations within the party. As a consequence, the party has arrived at a decision to relieve Harsh Sanghavi of his responsibilities as the Home Minister of Gujarat.
This development is expected to trigger a series of changes within the Gujarat Government’s cabinet, as the state gears up for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. It is rumored that a formal complaint regarding Sanghavi’s actions was made to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Prashant Dayal of Navajivan News revealed that, in light of Sanghavi’s dismissal, Jagdish Vishwkarma, a figure known to be closely associated with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, is being considered as the new Gujarat Home Minister. Additionally, Amit Thakar, a senior BJP leader and the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) representing Vejalpur in Ahmedabad, is expected to join the revamped cabinet.
