Gujarat : Grand Tiranga Yatra in Ahmedabad Unites 30K Citizens

Gandhinagar |Gujarat — Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel led a grand ‘Tiranga Padyatra’ in Ahmedabad. Citizens joined in large numbers to pay tribute to the freedom fighters. People marched from Adarsh School in Kubernagar to Rameshwar Circle in Meghaninagar with a patriotic spirit.
The ‘Grand Tiranga Yatra,’ organized by the Department of Sports, Youth Services and Cultural Activities, Gandhinagar, in collaboration with the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, was flagged off by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Health Minister Rushikesh Patel, Minister of State for Cooperation and Rural Industries Jagdish Vishwakarma, Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghavi, and other dignitaries participated in the yatra by waving the tricolour.

On the occasion, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Tiranga Yatra is being organized to instill respect and honor for our tricolor, a symbol of pride and glory for every Indian. He further added that this campaign has become a source of inspiration for all and serves to unite the nation.

The CM also noted that the Prime Minister has emphasised cleanliness for this year’s Tiranga Yatra. The state government is celebrating Independence Day with the campaign ‘Har Ghar Tiranga, Har Ghar Swachhata’.
Speaking about the Prime Minister’s Vocal for Local campaign Chief Minister said the Har Ghar Tiranga initiative fosters a “Nation First” spirit. He added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi calls upon citizens to adopt indigenous products and Local for Vocal, and urged citizens to honor the tricolor by strengthening economic independence through Swadeshi.
The Tiranga Yatra commenced from Adarsh School in Kubernagar, passing through Shiv Narayan Society Sector-01, Shivajinagar, Amarajinagar Lanes 04 and 05, Amarajinagar Lane 03, Vidyanagar, Savdhan Nagar, Ravi Row Houses, Rabari Vas, and Arvindnagar, concluding near Rameshwar Circle.
Students and teachers from the Ahmedabad School Board marched with a 2,151-foot-long tricolor, adding grandeur to the procession. Along the route, cultural groups from various states, school students, and youth in traditional attire presented vibrant patriotic performances, warmly welcoming the participants of the Tiranga Yatra.
Patriotic songs such as Meri Shaan Tiranga, Mera Mulk Mera Desh, Vande Mataram, Saare Jahan Se Achha, and Ae Mere Watan Ke Logon, played to the beat of DJ music, filled the entire route with an atmosphere of patriotism.
The Tiranga Yatra was attended by Ahmedabad Mayor Pratibha Jain, Members of Parliament from Ahmedabad East and West, MLAs of Ahmedabad, councillors, Ahmedabad Municipal Commissioner Banchhanidhi Pani, City Police Commissioner G.S. Malik, and officers and officials from various departments of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation.
The Yatra saw the participation of various police platoons, SRP personnel, the police band, fire department personnel, students from different schools, sportspersons, community members, leaders, and over 30,000 citizens. Four tableaux by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation—Swachh City Ahmedabad, Operation Sindoor, Gau Ganesh, and Mission Four Million Trees—were also featured in the yatra.
Notably, in the 79th year of India’s independence, the national flag stands as a symbol of pride for the entire nation, reaffirming the commitment to nation-building. As part of the Independence Day celebrations, the State Government has organized the Har Ghar Tiranga and Tiranga Yatra programmes from August 2 to 15, to inspire a sense of pride for the national flag and the nation among the people of the state.
