Gandhinagar : Governor Acharya Devvrat bestowed the honor on Gujarat’s finest young citizens yesterday, felicitating the state’s outstanding NCC cadets who marched proudly in the prestigious Republic Day Parade in New Delhi. An ‘At Home’ function held at Raj Bhavan resonated with patriotism and appreciation as the Governor lauded the dedication and discipline of these future leaders.

“The NCC cadets, brimming with patriotism and discipline, are the true wealth of our nation,” declared Governor Devvrat, acknowledging the vital role the National Cadet Corps plays in shaping responsible citizens. He commended the young minds actively involved in national service, reminding them that NCC goes beyond mere parades and uniform drills.

“NCC equips you to step up as responsible citizens, ever ready to serve society in its hour of need,” the Governor emphasized. He urged the cadets to actively contribute to building a strong, self-reliant India, highlighting the immense value derived from participating in the Republic Day Parade – a platform to showcase personal talent and bolster confidence.

Major General Ramesh Shanmugam, NCC Additional Director General of Gujarat, shared impressive statistics, revealing that across 1,000 schools and colleges in 33 districts, a staggering 70,670 young individuals are actively engaged with NCC. This year alone, 119 cadets from Gujarat earned the privilege of marching in the grand Republic Day Parade, a testament to their dedication and excellence.

The ceremony witnessed the heartwarming moment of Governor Devvratji personally presenting medals to the best NCC cadets: Kashish Kansara, Anshul Khandelwal, Devi Sivaraman, Rishabh Tripathi, Priya Chowdhury, Yash Chhetri, Nitika Singh, and Asmita Bharali. Their outstanding performance amidst numerous contenders brought immense pride to the state.

Furthermore, the Vadodara Group, recognized as the best performing NCC group in Gujarat for 2023, received the coveted championship banner, presented by the Governor himself. Adding a personal touch, cadet Hrithik Suthar presented a beautifully drawn pencil portrait of Governor Devvratji, creating a memorable moment.

The occasion also marked the release of NCC Gujarat’s annual magazine, “The Cadet Journal,” documenting the organization’s activities and achievements. The ceremony concluded with Governor Devvratji wishing the cadets a bright future, their dedication serving as an inspiration for all.
