Navsari, Gujarat :  A bizarre and dangerous incident unfolded in Jalalpore, Navsari, when a drunk couple climbed a high-tension electricity tower, causing a major public spectacle. The shocking scene, captured on video, quickly went viral, sparking outrage over the blatant violation of Gujarat’s alcohol ban and raising serious concerns about public safety.

According to eyewitnesses, the couple appeared intoxicated and was shouting nonsensically from the top of the high-voltage transmission structure. Their reckless act drew a huge crowd of villagers, who initially tried to convince them to come down. However, despite multiple attempts, the couple refused to descend, prompting locals to call the police.

Police Rescue Drunk Couple from Tower

As the situation escalated, a team from Maroli police station rushed to the scene. With assistance from locals, officers managed to bring the intoxicated duo down safely without any injuries. The police later confirmed that both individuals were under the influence of alcohol, leading to legal action against them.

An officer from Maroli police station stated, “The couple was completely intoxicated and creating chaos. We had to intervene swiftly to prevent any mishap. Fortunately, we managed to get them down safely.”

Alcohol Ban Violations Under Investigation

Despite Gujarat’s strict prohibition laws, the incident has exposed loopholes in enforcement, as obtaining alcohol still seems easily accessible. Authorities are now investigating how the couple procured liquor despite the ban and whether a larger illegal supply chain is involved.

The police have not only registered a case against the drunken couple but have also taken legal action against the woman who supplied them with alcohol. Officials have confirmed that they will thoroughly probe how the liquor was sourced, raising questions about underground alcohol networks operating in the state.

Public Safety and Legal Consequences

The reckless behavior of the couple has triggered serious safety concerns, as climbing a high-tension tower while intoxicated could have resulted in a fatal electrocution. Fortunately, timely intervention prevented a tragedy, but the incident underscores the need for strict monitoring and enforcement of alcohol prohibition laws in Gujarat.

Legal experts suggest that the couple could face charges for public nuisance, trespassing, and endangering public safety. Police officials have warned of stringent actions against such acts to prevent similar incidents in the future.
