Gandhinagar | Gujarat — In a significant move to tighten vigil along one of India’s most sensitive frontiers, Gujarat State Police Chief K. L. N. Rao will undertake a two-day strategic visit to border villages in Kutch on February 21 and 22, 2026. The visit aims to make the India-Pakistan international border and Kutch’s vast coastline “impenetrable” against infiltration and smuggling threats.

During the visit, the DGP will chair a high-level Crime Conference in Bhuj, bringing together officials from the police, Indian Army, Border Security Force (BSF), Coast Guard and Air Force. “Strong inter-agency coordination is critical to prevent cross-border infiltration, narcotics smuggling and anti-national activities via sea routes,” a senior official said.

Dr. Rao will also inspect sensitive coastal locations such as Jakhau and Pingleswar, reviewing the preparedness of Marine Police units. He is expected to interact directly with personnel stationed in remote areas to assess operational readiness and welfare facilities.

Officials describe the visit as a “strategic security audit” at a time when coastal and border vigilance remains a top priority for the state.
