Gujarat CID Inspector, Constable Caught Taking Rs.30 Lakh Bribe in Gandhinagar

ACB traps Gujarat CID Crime officer P.K. Patel and armed constable red-handed during public road bribe deal at Sargasan

Gandhinagar | Gujarat — A Gujarat CID crime police inspector PK Patel and armed constable Vipul Desai were caught red handed by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for accepting Rs 30 lakh bribe money on the public road at Sargasan in Gandhinagar on Monday. 

It is worth mentioning that when a PI and an armed police constable had demanded a bribe for not taking action and settling a crime at a call center. The ACB team led by police inspector DN Patel set a trap and caught both of them with cash Rs 30 lakh. The ACB has registered a case against the CID crime police inspector and the constable and further investigations are going on. 

The fact in this case is that, CID Crime CI Cell Police Inspector P.K. Patel and CID Crime CI Cell armed police constable Police Officer Vipulbhai Desai demanded a bribe of Rs. 30 lakh from the complainant and the complainant’s friend for not taking any action in the call centre crime of CID Crime Gandhinagar Zone Post Office. The complainant did not want to pay the bribe amount, so the complainant contacted the ACB and filed a complaint. 

During the bribe trap, accused Vipul Desai had a face-to-face conversation with the complainant and accepted a bribe of Rs. 30,00,000/- as a bribe and the accused police inspector talked with Desai after the money was delivered.  Both the accused helped each other and were caught and committed the crime.
