Gujarat BJP President CR Paatil has secured a historic victory on the Navsari Lok Sabha seat, emerging as the candidate with the highest victory margin in India
GANDHINAGAR, GUJARAT : Gujarat BJP President CR Paatil has secured a historic victory on the Navsari Lok Sabha seat, emerging as the candidate with the highest victory margin in India after Shivraj Singh Chouhan, former CM of Madhya Pradesh who won with the victory margin of over 8 lakh votes. Paatil’s monumental win comes as a testament to the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) resounding dominance in Gujarat’s political landscape.
With a record victory margin of 7.67 lakh votes, Paatil’s triumph underscores the unwavering support and trust of the electorate in the BJP’s leadership and policies. His landslide victory surpasses previous records, setting a new benchmark in Indian electoral history.
Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, contesting from Gandhinagar, secured over 10 lakh votes, clinching victory with a commanding margin of over 7.44 lakh votes. Shah’s decisive win reaffirms his stature as a formidable leader and a key architect of the BJP’s electoral strategies.
In the 2019 polls, CR Paatil had come close to breaking the all-time record of victory margin in a parliamentary election when he defeated his Congress rival in Navsari by a difference of 6.89 lakh votes. His remarkable margin was just shy of the record set by Pritam Munde in October 2014.
The BJP’s dominance in Gujarat’s Lok Sabha elections was evident across various constituencies, with several candidates securing substantial victory margins. Dr. Hemang Joshi from Vadodara, Rajpalsinh Jadhav from Panchmahal, and Union Minister Parshottam Rupala from Rajkot are among those who emerged victorious with significant leads.
Six BJP candidates clinched victories with margins of votes ranging between 3 to 4 lakhs, further highlighting the party’s formidable electoral machinery and deep-rooted support base in the state.
Despite the BJP’s overwhelming performance, there were instances where the margin of victory was less than two lakh votes. Shobhnaben Baraiya from Sabarkantha and Rajeshbhai Chudasama from Junagadh are leading in such constituencies.
Geniben Thakor, the sole winner from the Congress party, secured victory in Banaskantha with a margin of over 30,000 votes, marking a significant resurgence for the party in Gujarat politics.
