Gujarat Assembly Hosts 4-Day Health Checkup Camp for MLAs

GandhinagarThe Health Checkup Camp-2025 organized by the Health and Family Welfare Department of the State Government at the Gujarat Legislative Assembly was inaugurated by the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, Shankarbhai Chaudhary in the presence of Health Minister Rushikesh Patel.

On this occasion, the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, Shankarbhai Chaudhary said that it is often seen that MLAs are not able to take care of their health in some circumstances between the issues of their constituency and public welfare works. Also, journalists who are busy in conveying the work of the Legislative Assembly and other information to the public are also not able to take care of their health. This health checkup camp will prove effective for them.

Further, the Speaker added that it is very important to get the disease checked before but not after falling ill, for which OPD checkup specialists and super specialist doctors will conduct the checkup in this camp.

Thanking the Health Minister, Chaudhary said that keeping in mind the Ayurvedic method, a nature test has also been organized in this camp. This initiative is commendable.This test is necessary so that the citizens can understand their nature and take food that is appropriate for it.

Health Minister Rushikesh Patel said that a four-day camp has been organized so that the MLAs and journalist friends of the assembly can get a health check-up at the assembly and their diseases can be treated on the spot by expert doctors. The health check-up of the MLAs and members of parliament and the officers and employees of the assembly along with journalists will be done on the second day. In this health check-up, arrangements have been made for consultation and treatment of body-related diseases by Ayurvedic and allopathic experts, the Minister added.

In the four-day medical checkup held at the Vidhan Sabha from March 18 to March 21, various tests like blood report, urine report, ECG will be done. Also, reports will be made by specialist and super specialist doctors. If anyone needs additional tests, they will be referred to GMERS, Medical College Gandhinagar.

In addition, cardiologists from U.N. Mehta Institute, cancer specialists from The Gujarat Cancer and Research Institute and kidney specialists from the Institute of Kidney Diseases and Research Center are present with necessary equipment and staff.

In this camp, specialist doctors from various departments like ophthalmology, ENT, skin, orthopedic, gynecology, dental, medicine, surgery and their teams are present from GMERS, Gandhinagar with equipment, medicines and logistics.

Apart from this, arrangements have been made to have all the laboratory equipment and facilities to conduct maximum tests on the spot.

In this medical checkup, an allopathic medical checkup camp will be organized for the ministers-MLAs on March 18 and for the remaining ministers-MLAs, members of parliament, assembly officers-employees and journalists on March 19.

Similarly, an Ayurvedic-Homeopathic medical checkup camp will be organized for the ministers-MLAs on March 20 and for the remaining ministers-MLAs, assembly officers-employees and journalists on March 21.
