Gandhinagar | Gujarat —  Industries Minister Balvantsinh Rajput chaired a committee meeting in Gandhinagar to grant final eligibility certificates to major industries. During the meeting, applications from 22 major units with a total investment of ₹1,478.71 crore were approved, expected to generate around 4,136 new jobs in the state.

On this occasion, Industries Minister Balvantsinh Rajput stated that an industry-friendly ecosystem has been established across the country, including Gujarat. Under the guidance of  Chief Minister  Bhupendra Patel, the state has attracted investments of approximately ₹1,48,336.35 crore under the ‘Incentive to Industries’ scheme, resulting in the creation of over 1.65 lakh direct jobs. This, in turn, has given significant momentum to small and medium-scale ancillary industries in the MSME sector.

Moreover, Minister  Rajput said that among the applications approved today, investments include ₹383.91 crore in the metal, paper, food-agro, and cement-concrete sectors in Ahmedabad district; ₹227.77 crore in the metal sector in Kutch; ₹218.88 crore in the chemical and ceramic sectors in Bharuch; ₹55.23 crore in the paper sector in Mehsana; ₹167.70 crore in the ceramic, metal, paper, and textile sectors in Morbi; ₹36.22 crore in the metal sector in Rajkot; ₹359.47 crore in the chemical, plastic, and paper sectors in Valsad; and ₹29.53 crore in the paper sector in Surendranagar district. He added that these approvals will play a significant role in further strengthening industries in the state and in increasing both direct and indirect employment opportunities across Gujarat.

With the vision of making Gujarat a hub of social and economic growth, the State Government launched the ‘Incentive to Industries’ scheme under the Industrial Policy–2015 to boost manufacturing, attract advanced technology investments, and promote innovative projects. Offering net SGST assistance, the scheme has positioned Gujarat as a leading investment destination in India and globally, earning strong interest from major industries.

The meeting was attended by the Principal Secretary of the Industries and Mines Department, Mamta Verma, Principal Secretary of the Forest and Environment Department,  Sanjeev Kumar, Principal Secretary of the Labour and Employment Department, Dr. Vinod Rao, Industries Commissioner  Swaroop. P  and other senior officials.
