Gujarat : AAP MLA Chaitar Vasava receives Grand Welcome by Tribal after his release from Rajpipla jail

The legal saga stems from the Dediapada police registering a case against Chaitar Vasava, his wife, personal assistant, and a total of nine individuals, including a farmer friend, for allegedly threatening forest department officers and firing a round in the air. The initial arrests included Shakuntala Vasava, P.A. Jitendra Vasava, and farmer Ramesh Vasava, as Chaitar Vasava remained in hiding.

Rajpipla : In a dramatic turn of events, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Chaitar Vasava, who recently secured conditional bail, received a hero’s welcome from thousands of supporters outside Rajpipala jail. However, the jubilant atmosphere was marred by a brief and tense encounter as Vasava’s wife, Varsha Vasava, faced police obstruction while attempting to secure her husband’s release with a court order in hand.

After eluding authorities for several days, Chaitar Vasava surrendered on December 14, bringing a temporary halt to the legal proceedings. However, the latest chapter in this unfolding drama involved Varsha Vasava’s attempt to secure her husband’s release, leading to an hour-long halt by the police near Bitada Chowkdi.

The Narmada police had reportedly heightened security measures to prevent large gatherings of Vasava’s supporters, aiming to maintain peace in the district. Despite these precautions, thousands of supporters gathered outside Rajpipala jail to welcome the AAP MLA, showering him with flower petals and chanting slogans like ‘Adivasi Sher Aya’ (The Tribal Lion Has Arrived).

Chaitar Vasava’s release from the 46-day jail term coincided with a public reception organized by his supporters at Movi Chowkdi in Netrang, Bharuch district. As per legal protocols, Vasava was expected to be deported shortly after his release, but this did not deter the enthusiastic crowd from celebrating his return.

The scene outside Narmada District Jail turned chaotic as supporters, numbering in the thousands, broke through police barricades to reach MLA Chaitar Vasava. The jubilant crowd garlanded the AAP leader, orchestrating a grand welcome reminiscent of a road show, complete with chants of “Adivasi Ser Aya.”

In a statement following his release, Chaitar Vasava expressed gratitude to his supporters and vehemently denied any wrongdoing. He claimed that he and his associates were wrongly implicated at the behest of BJP leadership, further vowing to continue the fight against alleged oppression on the tribal community.

As the political drama continues to unfold, questions linger about the implications of these events on AAP’s electoral strategies and the broader political landscape in Gujarat.
