Greenman Viral Desai Creates Pocket Forest at Kapodra Police Station on World Forest Day

Surat :  Viral Desai has committed to transforming Kapodra Police Station into a ‘Green Police Station’ by establishing a pocket forest within the station grounds.  As part of this project, he has established a small forest by planting approximately 500 trees and plants, with plans to incorporate additional attractions in the future.

Viral Desai stated, ‘Today marks a significant day for the environment.’  As pollution levels rise in urban environments, the presence of pocket forests becomes increasingly essential in cities.  This pocket forest will create a serene and verdant atmosphere for the employees and visitors of the police station.

Viral Desai further stated, ‘Indian cities are in urgent need of urban forests.’  Cities require biodiversity.  Additionally, urban forests enable us to regulate the temperature in urban areas.  Specifically, these public spaces and assets ought to serve as exemplars of environmental stewardship, fostering awareness among a broad segment of the urban population while also allowing that segment to reap the rewards of nature.
