The program, attended by top state officials and dignitaries, began with the Chief Minister offering a garland to the statue of Sardar Patel at Naranpura. However, as he descended from the platform after paying his respects, his foot slipped on the wet steps, causing him to lose balance and fall. The mishap happened due to a rain-soaked red carpet spread across the stage.
