Mumbai : Child Help Foundation, a Pan-India non-profit organisation, is a proud participant and winner at Aashayein, an annual festival organised by Mumbai’s famous school Jamnabai Narsee School in Juhu, Mumbai, Maharashtra.

The goal of this yearly festival Aashayein is to offer a platform for impoverished youngsters to demonstrate their skills. It encourages youngsters to find and pursue their authentic identities. Students participated in activities such as BhagamBhag (Relay), Dum LagakeHaisha (Tug of War), KavitaonkiDaastan (Poem Recitation), Mumbai Meri Jaan (Treasure Hunt), Rangeen (Painting), Sa Re Ga Ma (Singing), Animal Kingdom (Play Dough Modelling), BaatonBaaton Mein (Elocution), and Let’s Nacho (Group Dance). With the assistance of the NGO, 14 children aged 6 to 14 from Mira Road in MBMC took part in this event.

This forum allows several NGOs and underprivileged youngsters in Mumbai to display their talents.  Child Help Foundation was one of the contestants and performed an outstanding job. The organisation took second and third place in the categories of ‘Animal Kingdom’ and ‘KavitaonkiDaastan’, respectively. One of the pupils even got a scholarship at D’Art Fusion, a Mumbai-based art and craft institution. Other participants were given participation certificates and return presents, as well as breakfast and lunch. A funfair and prize distribution event brought the curtain down.

Mr. Nakuul Mehta and Mr. Shaheer Sheikh, well-known actors from the silver screen, were the Guests of Honour, and they presented the awards to the winners. It was a one-day event organised by students from NMIMS (NarseeMonjee Institute of Management Studies).

Speaking about the Aashayein event, Mr. Shaji Varghese, CEO of Child Help Foundation, said, “We are fully committed to not only providing children with educational opportunities but also assisting them in providing a platform through which they can showcase their extracurricular talents.” These activities improve their skill and credentials and may help them in their future aspirations. They may also advance their professions if they excel in extracurricular activities. It’s a fantastic idea by JamnabaiNarsee School to provide such a platform for impoverished students to express their skills, and we look forward to participating in Aashayein again next year. We also want to collaborate with more institutions and schools in the future so that youngsters may have more opportunity to display their hidden abilities and create their futures. The NGO will constantly support and develop them with its best efforts.”

Participating in activities like this provides the youngsters with valuable exposure and experience. It is another feather in their crown, which will help them succeed in the future. Child Help Foundation is happy of all the youngsters that represented the NGO and helped us expand our impact and improve more lives. Last but not least, we would want to thank everyone at JamnabaiNarsee School for providing us with this platform and chance.
