Central University of Gujarat to Award Degrees to 662 Students at 6th Convocation
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel to grace the 6th Convocation of Central University of Gujarat, where 662 students, including 120 Ph.D. scholars, will receive degrees.

Vadodara | Gujarat — A total of 662 students from various schools will be awarded degrees at the 6th Convocation Ceremony of the Central University of Gujarat, scheduled to be held on November 15, 2025. The ceremony will include students from undergraduate, postgraduate, M.Phil., and Ph.D. programmes.
Addressing a press conference held on Thursday, Vice Chancellor Prof. Rama Shanker Dubey informed that the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel, will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest and confer degrees upon the students. He further mentioned that this will be the first convocation to be held at the University’s permanent campus in Kundhela, Vadodara. It is noteworthy that the 6th Convocation will include students from the last two academic sessions. Prof. Dubey shared that 110 undergraduate, 428 postgraduate, 4 M.Phil., and 120 Ph.D. students will receive their degrees. The ceremony will be presided over by Hon’ble Chancellor Dr. Hasmukh Adhia.
47 Students to Receive CUG Medals
Controller of Examinations Dr. Darshan Maru stated that students securing the highest marks in the postgraduate programmes of Economics, Library and Information Science, and Gujarati Department will be awarded CUG Medals along with sponsored gold medals. These gold medals are instituted in the names of Vidya Devi Agrawal, Shanta Karisiddhappa, and Kavishri Pinakin Thakor. Among the medal recipients are two male and four female students.
He further informed that 32 students from B.A. Chinese, 37 from German Studies, and 41 from the five-year Integrated Course in Social Management will be awarded degrees. In addition, 47 students with outstanding academic performance, comprising 18 male and 29 female awardees, will be honoured with the CUG Medal. At the postgraduate level, 428 students from 20 departments will receive degrees. During the Winter Session 2024, degrees will be awarded to 51 undergraduate and 227 postgraduate students, while in the Winter Session 2025, 59 undergraduate and 201 postgraduate students will receive their degrees.
