Botswana Ministers to Meet Surat Business Leaders at SGCCI Investment Summit

Surat and South Gujarat industrialists to explore global investment and trade opportunities with Botswana delegation on December 19

Surat| Gujarat — Industrialists, traders and investors from the diamond and textile city of Surat in particular and South Gujarat in general will gather under one roof at a special programme organised by the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) on ‘investment and global business opportunities’ in Botswana. 

A delegation of business leaders from Botswana led by senior officials and key representatives from the Government of Botswana, including Bogolo Joy Kenewendo (Minister – Minerals and Energy, Botswana) and  Dr. Phenyo Butale (Minister – International Relations, Botswana) are visiting the SGCCI headquarters in Surat on December 19 to forge business partnership and investment opportunities in Botswana. 

SGCCI president Nikhil Madrasi said that a high-level delegation led by the Government of Botswana are visiting Surat on December 19. A special programme on investment and global business opportunities has been organised at the platinum hall at Surat International Exhibition and Convention Centre (SIECC) at Sarsana Surat. The industrialists, traders and investors from Surat and south Gujarat are expected to participate in huge numbers. 

Champalal Bothra, co-chairman of Textile Trade and Retail Trade Committee of  SGCCI and National Chairman – Textile and Garment Committee, CAIT stated that the main objective of this program is to provide detailed information about the vast opportunities available to Indian industrialists and investors in various sectors in Botswana, including minerals, energy, textiles, diamond processing, agribusiness, and infrastructure.

He further added that Botswana is a politically stable and investment-friendly country, and this could prove to be a strong opportunity for industrialists from Surat and South Gujarat to enter the African market.

SGCCI has appealed  to all industrialists, traders, and investors from Surat and South Gujarat to attend this important international event in large numbers.
