Auspicious Kalash Ceremony Marks New Beginnings at Surat Diamond Bourse

A remarkable 983 kalash were placed in their new office spaces at the Diamond Research and Mercantile (DREAM) City located in Khajod. The young unmarried girls and women who took part in this ceremony carried the kalash, signifying the entry of the goddess Laxmi, the deity of wealth. Chants of sacred mantras, such as "Om gam ganpataye namah" or the Gayatri mantra, filled the air as they entered the premises, always leading with their right foot.

Surat : In a joyous and sacred event, hundreds of women and young unmarried girls hailing from families associated with diamond companies graced the occasion by carrying beautifully adorned kalash (kumbh ghado) on their heads. They entered the magnificent new offices at the Surat Diamond Bourse (SDB), the world’s largest office building, as part of a housewarming pooja or grah pravesh. This age-old ritual is believed to usher in a wealth of light, positivity, freshness, good thoughts, and positive energy.

Vallabh Lakhani, the Chairman of the Surat Diamond Bourse, expressed his delight, saying, “It was a moment to cherish when 983 women walked with the kalash in the sprawling SDB premises and entered into their respective new offices in the bourse. The kumbh ghada ceremony on Vijaya Dushami marks the auspicious beginning of the world’s largest diamond bourse in Surat.”

The Kumbh Ghada ceremony at the SDB took place in the presence of Gujarat BJP President CR Paatil and Minister of State for Railways and Textiles, Darshana Jardosh. It was a momentous occasion as on the auspicious day of Vijaya Dashami, a total of 983 small and large business owners with offices in the Surat Diamond Bourse, along with their families, conducted the installation of Kumbh Ghada in their office spaces with all the associated scriptural rites. The grand event drew more than 5,000 attendees, including all committee members of the Surat Diamond Bourse.

The formal inauguration of the Surat Diamond Bourse is a highly anticipated event, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi scheduled to preside over the ceremony on December 17. Further details about this grand opening ceremony, to be held in the esteemed presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will be announced in due course.
