AURO University hosts national seminar on NEP 2020

Surat (Gujarat) : AURO University in Surat hosted a two-day national seminar on the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 titled ‘The Pathway Through Integral Education’ at the Sri Aurobindo Integral Life Centre [SAILC].

Dr. Kiran Singh, Director of SAILC, welcomed all dignitaries, guests, and participants and presented views on Integral Education from Sri Aurobindo and the Divine Mother’s perspectives.

Professor Parimal H Vyas, Provost, advocated for the National Education Policy 2020 to be referred to as the Bharatiya Education Policy. He emphasised the importance of thoroughly reviewing the National Education Policy [NEP] document:2020. He stated that Auro University provides quality education to help students grow holistically. Dr. Vyas mentioned Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Mann Ki Baat Program, in which the Hon’ble Prime Minister acknowledged Shri Aurobindo’s Philosophy of Education, which has been incorporated into the NEP 2020.

Shri. Hasmukh (H.P.) Rama, Founder President of AURO University, explained the Vision, Core Values, and 12 Living Principles practised at AURO University, which are inspired by Sri Aurobindo’s philosophy and the Divine Mother’s blessings. He went on to say, “Education knows no bounds. AURO University focuses on developing curriculum for students based on four pillars of value-based education: “Physical, mental, vital, and spiritual health”. He welcomed all of the school and university teachers who were taking part in this “Yagna.”

The keynote address was given by Dr. Alok Pandey, Director of the Sri Aurobindo International Institute of Integral Health and Research in Pondicherry. He brought the perspective of the Rashtra [Nation], citing India’s ‘Unity in diversity’. ‘We are one, and we are many,’ he added. In his trademark style, he explained the role of the teacher in education and the student’s approach to learning by drawing on examples from the Ramayana, Mahabharata, and Bhagwat Gita. He emphasised the Indian National Education Policy 2020. He praised the founder of AURO University, Shri Hasmukh (H.P.) Rama, whose commendable efforts revealed that ‘Auro University has the potential to become similar to Nalanda University.

Dr. Jayanthi, Dr. Kamala Menon, and Dr. Anju Khanna, Dr. Jayanthi, Dr. Kamala Menon, and Dr. Anju Khanna shared their perspectives and experiences with holistic education from School Education experiments. Following that, three workshops were held to educate participants on sensory, intellectual, physical, and artistic activities.
