The protest was organized by a coalition of employees from companies in Dahej, bus drivers, and transport vehicle operators. More than 50,000 workers from several companies in the Dahej Industrial Estate, commuting from Bharuch city and surrounding areas, rely on over 500 private buses to transport them to work.

However, with the monsoon season in full swing, the condition of the Dahej-Bharuch and Bharuch-Dahej roads has deteriorated significantly, causing significant distress among drivers of transport vehicles and employees of private companies.

On Friday, irate commuters and employees gathered near the toll plaza to voice their dissatisfaction, directing their frustration at the toll collector and the state government for failing to address the urgent need for road repairs.

Commuters have expressed their exasperation with the recurring road issues and are demanding immediate patchwork and repair. The deteriorating road conditions throughout the Bharuch district have raised concerns about the safety of commuters, with the risk of accidents becoming increasingly apparent.

The protest resulted in a lengthy queue of vehicles forming at the toll tax plaza, effectively disrupting traffic near Kesharol village. The demonstrators aim to draw attention to the dire need for road repairs and the urgency of addressing the deteriorating conditions on the Bharuch-Dahej state highway.
