Ammy Virk’s Concert Convoy Targeted in Canada Shooting: 7 Shots Reportedly Fired, No Injuries

Punjabi singer and actor Ammy Virk’s concert convoy was reportedly caught up in a shooting in Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada, shortly after his performance at Rogers Forum on September 5. Around seven rounds were reportedly fired at a vehicle linked to the convoy, according to media reports.

The Abbotsford Police Department confirmed that a vehicle was shot at shortly after 11 pm, when occupants of a dark-coloured SUV allegedly opened fire on a vehicle travelling through the 2500-block of McCallum Road. Fortunately, no one was injured.

Ammy Virk’s Convoy Comes Under Fire After Canada Concert

The incident happened hours after Ammy Virk performed at Rogers Forum in Abbotsford as part of his 2026 Unity Tour. The concert was held on September 5, with the shooting reported later that night.

According to several Canadian and Indian media reports, the vehicle that came under fire was associated with Virk’s concert convoy. Some reports claimed that around seven bullets were fired at the vehicle.

Reports have also described the targeted vehicle as a luxury Rolls-Royce and claimed that it was bullet-resistant. However, the police have not publicly identified the occupants of the vehicle or officially confirmed that Ammy Virk was inside it at the time of the shooting.

Police Confirm Shooting, But Ammy Virk’s Presence Was Not Officially Confirmed

The Abbotsford Police Department has confirmed the core details of the incident but has not released the identities of those inside the vehicle.

Police said preliminary information indicates that people in a dark-coloured SUV fired multiple shots at another vehicle. Investigators have described the incident as targeted, although the motive remains unknown.

The distinction is important because some media reports have stated that Virk was travelling in the vehicle, while police have not independently confirmed that detail.

Adding to the uncertainty, a report published by The Tribune quoted Virk’s father, Kuljit Singh, as saying that his son was safe and that the shooting was reportedly connected to the party that organised the show rather than being directed at Ammy Virk personally.

Burnt SUV Found Shortly After Shooting

The investigation took another turn when police received a report of a vehicle fire shortly after the shooting.

Officers responding to the 2400-block of Sunnyside Place found an SUV completely engulfed in flames. The location was several kilometres from where the shooting occurred.

The Abbotsford Police Major Crime Unit is investigating whether the burned vehicle is connected to the shooting. Police have not confirmed the connection but are examining both incidents as part of the ongoing investigation.

Police Appeal for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage

Investigators are asking people who were in the area around the time of the shooting to come forward with information.

Police are particularly interested in witnesses or drivers who may have captured dashcam footage around the 2500-block of McCallum Road between approximately 10:45 pm and 11:30 pm on September 5. They are also seeking information relating to the vehicle fire on Sunnyside Place between 11 pm and midnight.

No arrests had been announced at the time of the latest reports, and investigators are still working to establish the motive and determine who was responsible.

Ammy Virk Safe After Incident

Despite reports surrounding the shooting, no injuries were reported. Ammy Virk has continued to be the focus of widespread attention following the incident because of the reported connection between the targeted vehicle and his concert convoy.

Virk is one of the prominent names in Punjabi music and cinema, with films including Angrej, Qismat and Laung Laachi. His 2026 Unity Tour has taken him to multiple locations in Canada.

The Abbotsford shooting has nevertheless raised fresh concerns about security surrounding Punjabi entertainers performing in Canada, particularly amid previous incidents involving prominent artists.

For now, authorities have not established who was behind the shooting or why the vehicle was targeted. The investigation remains ongoing.
