Amitabh Bachchan, Sachin Arrive in Surat; Fans Go Berserk at ISPL Opening

Surat | Gujarat — Fans went berserk when Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan arrived in the diamond city of Surat along with Surya and master blaster Sachin Tendulkar for the opening ceremony of Indian Street Premier League (ISPL) on Friday. 

The organisers of ISPL and the city police are to be blamed for not controlling the unruly crowd when they knew that the presence of Amitabh Bachchan and other bollywood and cricketing world dignitaries would create commotion among the public. 

Amitabh Bachchan, who arrived at the Surat airport, was driven straight to Casarivera in Adajan area where he attended the housewarming ceremony of Surat industrialist Sunil Shah. When Bachchan reached the house of a Surat businessman directly from Surat airport, an uncontrollable crowd broke the main glass door of the apartment. 

Season-3 of the Indian Street Premier League (ISPL) kickstarted at the Lalbhai Contractor stadium in Surat in the presence of dignitaries from Bollywood and cricket world. About eight teams will compete in the high-octane tennis-ball T10 cricket league that will last for a month.

Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan, Sachin and Surya had reached Surat airport for the opening ceremony. Where fans rushed to take pictures. Along with this, a grand welcome was also given at the hotel. The opening ceremony of this tournament will feature a performance by 200 dancers and will be hosted by Anupama fame Rupali Ganguly. Akshay Kumar will enter via helicopter.

Sources said that after reaching Surat, Amitabh Bachchan reached the house of Surat businessman Sunil Shah. Businessman Sunil Shah’s house is located in Casa Rivera Residency in Adajan area. Businessman Sunil Shah’s house is ready, but he was going to move in after Amitabh Bachchan enters his house. However,  Amitabh Bachchan reached Shah’s apartment and performed the housewarming ceremony. 

A large number of fans had gathered when the news spread about Amitabh Bachchan was going to come to Casa Rivera Residency in the Adajan area. There was a huge commotion outside the apartment as the onlookers went berserk. During this, the main glass gate to enter the residency was broken by the crowds. The police also sweated while controlling the large crowd that had gathered. After the scuffle, Amitabh Bachchan was taken out of the crowd and sent to the hotel.
