Air India Shifts Ahmedabad-London Flights to Heathrow from August 1

Air India has announced in a press note that it will  operate flights between Ahmedabad and London Heathrow thrice a week from August 1 to September 30, 2025.

Ahmedabad, Gujarat – Air India has made a major change on the London route after the tragic accident of AI171 flight from Ahmedabad to London Gatwick on June 12. Air India has decided to stop Ahmedabad-London Gatwick flights and now it has decided to start flights between Ahmedabad-London Heathrow from August 1. This flight will operate thrice a week. Moreover, the affected passengers will be contacted directly and given the option of rebooking on alternative flights of their choice or getting a full refund.

Air India has announced in a press note that it will  operate flights between Ahmedabad and London Heathrow thrice a week from August 1 to September 30, 2025. Earlier, this flight service was provided between Ahmedabad and London Gatwick 5 days a week, in which these changes have been made. These changes have been made partially to re-operate the flight.

Air India stated that some frequencies will resume from August 1 compared to July and all flights will be fully scheduled from October 1, 2025.

Air India has clarified that it is directly contacting all passengers affected by the flight route changes and is giving passengers the option of rebooking on alternative flights of their choice or getting a full refund. Air India has also apologised to passengers for the inconvenience. With this partial change, Air India will now operate over 525 international flights per week on 63 short-haul, long-haul and ultra-long-haul routes.

7 international flights of Air India were cancelled on June 17, including Ahmedabad-London, Delhi-Paris, Delhi-Vienna, London-Amritsar, Delhi-Dubai, Bengaluru-London flights. Apart from this, passengers of a flight coming from San Francisco to Mumbai were disembarked at Kolkata airport.
