Ahmedabad Rape Accused Shot While Trying to Escape During Crime Reconstruction
Danilimda rape accused injured in police firing after attacking constable during scene reconstruction

Ahmedabad | Gujarat — A rape accused was shot in the leg when he tried to escape during the reconstruction of the incident in the Danilimda area of Ahmedabad on Monday. The accused identified as Moinuddin allegedly raped a disabled girl in Danilimda.
Official sources said that police inspector Imran Ghasura shot the accused in his leg when he tried to escape during the reconstruction of the crime scene. The accused was rushed to the hospital for treatment, while a head constable injured in the incident was also shifted for the treatment.
The police took the accused named Moinuddin, who was arrested in a rape case registered in Danilimda police station of Ahmedabad, to the scene for reconstruction on Monday. It was during this time, the accused the police and tried to escape. He tried to snatch the weapon from Police Inspector Imran Ghasura, who was present at the scene. The accused was hit in the leg by a bullet fired by the PI.
Head constable Bharatsinh Rathod was injured during the scuffle between the rape accused and the policeman. He has been shifted to the Civil Hospital for treatment.
Accused attacked the constable with a piece of glass – DCP
DCP Ajit Rajian said that when the accused was taken to the scene of the incident, the accused tried to snatch PI Ghasura’s revolver and run away. The accused attacked Head Constable Bharat Rathod with a piece of glass. Both Bharat Rathod and the accused are undergoing treatment. A case will be registered against the accused in the Crime Branch.
An incident of an unidentified person raping a disabled girl late at night in Danilimda area of Ahmedabad came to light. In this incident, the Crime Branch has arrested the mentally challenged accused within four days of the crime being registered. Late at night, the disabled girl came out of her house and came to the road, where the accused took advantage of the opportunity and raped her. The Crime Branch had to check more than 30 CCTV cameras to catch the accused. More than 15 crimes have been registered against the mentally challenged accused.
