Ahmedabad, Gujarat  – The preliminary investigation report into the catastrophic crash of Air India flight AI 171 has been submitted to the Ministry of Civil Aviation by the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB), sources confirmed on Monday.

The devastating crash, which occurred on June 12, claimed 260 lives, making it one of the deadliest aviation tragedies in India’s history.

Miraculously, one passenger survived the crash and is currently undergoing treatment.

“The initial findings are crucial for identifying what went wrong so swiftly after takeoff. This tragedy has shaken the nation,” a senior aviation official stated.

The preliminary report, although not yet public, includes data from the black box, cockpit voice recordings, and air traffic communication. The final report is expected after a detailed technical analysis.

The central government has assured full transparency. “Every possible angle—mechanical failure, pilot response, air traffic coordination—is being examined,” said an official from the Civil Aviation Ministry.

Families of the victims continue to demand answers and accountability, as India mourns the loss of lives in one of its gravest aviation disasters.
