Aarihant Homoeopathic Medical College & Research Institute Observes World Diabetes Day with Awareness Campaign in Tintoda Village

Gandhinagar: Aarihant Homoeopathic Medical College & Research Institute, affiliated with Swarrnim Startup & Innovation University, marked World Diabetes Day with an impactful awareness campaign in Tintoda Village in Gandhinagar district. The initiative, led by 25 students and interns under the guidance of faculty members, aimed to educate the community about diabetes prevention and management.

This year, the theme of World Diabetes Day is ‘Breaking Barriers, Bridging Gaps’. In line with this, the campaign by the students of Swarrnim University emphasised on the importance of reducing the risk of diabetes and ensuring equitable access to quality care for those affected.

The activity was spearheaded by Prof Dr Amita V Peter, Principal, and coordinated by Dr Rakesh Kumar Sharma, Professor and Head of the Department of Community Medicine, along with Dr Jaya Srivastava, Assistant Professor at the institute.

As part of the campaign, participants engaged with villagers, explaining preventive measures, symptoms, and lifestyle changes that are critical to managing and preventing diabetes. The interactive two-hour session focused on spreading awareness about Type 1, Type 2, and gestational diabetes. There was a special focus on early detection, lifestyle adjustments, and access to affordable healthcare.

“Diabetes is a pressing global health issue, and through such initiatives, we aim to empower communities with the knowledge needed to combat this condition effectively,” said Prof Dr Amita V Peter, Principal, Aarihant Homoeopathic Medical College & Research Institute.
