Ahmedabad: Aarihant Ayurvedic Medical College and Research University, which is affiliated with Swarrnim Startup and Innovation University, recently hosted a national-level workshop on ‘Approach to Pain Management – Exploring Agnikarma and Viddhakarma’. The day-long workshop was held at Bharatmata Town Hall in Kalol recently.
Dr Shubhangi Badole, Professor, Department of Surgery, Dr DG Paul Foundation’s YMT Ayurvedic Medical College and PG Institute in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra was the keynote speaker for the workshop.
Some 550 participants attended the workshop at Kalol, where 50 patients were treated. Participants included students and faculty members from Ayurvedic Colleges across the country.
Dr Shubhangi presented a live demonstration of Agnikarma and Viddhakarma. The idea behind organising the workshop is to explore the unique therapies of Agnikarma and Viddhakarma. Agnikarma i.e., conduction of heat with Gold Stick is a scientific management of pain in Ayurveda. Similarly, Viddhakarma is also a unique therapy in ayurveda which gives instant pain management and disease management.
The event also saw paper and poster presentation events done and winners were honoured with a certificate and a trophy.
