SURAT: A new chapter began for 156 young technology professionals at the fifth convocation ceremony of the Indian Institute of Information Technology Surat (IIIT Surat), as students, parents and faculty gathered to celebrate years of academic hard work and achievement.
The convocation was held on Saturday, with Govidbhai Dholakia as the chief guest. Anurag Kumar and Dr Dhananjay Gor attended as special guests, joining faculty members, graduating students, parents and invitees for the ceremony.
A total of 156 students were awarded degrees, marking the successful completion of their academic journey and their transition towards professional careers in technology, innovation and research.
IIIT Surat Chairperson C.P. Gurnani and Director Prof. Rajiv Shourie congratulated the graduating students and wished them success in their future endeavours.
The institute leadership urged the graduates to carry forward the values and knowledge gained during their time at IIIT Surat and bring laurels to the institution.
“Graduation marks not just the completion of an academic journey, but the beginning of a new chapter filled with opportunities and responsibilities,” the institute said, emphasising the importance of applying knowledge to create meaningful contributions to society.
Academic excellence was also recognised during the ceremony. Kawad Meet Dhirubhai and Desai Rohan Sagar were awarded gold medals for their outstanding academic performance, while Aman Kumar and Aniruddha Agarwal received silver medals.
The institute acknowledged the contribution of faculty members and families in supporting students throughout their academic journey.
The ceremony was also a celebration of the determination and perseverance of the graduating batch. IIIT Surat said the event reflected its continuing commitment to developing talented professionals and future leaders equipped to contribute to the rapidly evolving fields of technology and innovation.
As the graduates stepped into professional life, the convocation served as both a celebration of their achievements and a reminder of the responsibilities accompanying their education.
