Surat Station Redevelopment Shifts Key Trains to Udhna for 30 Days
Platform roof work at Surat railway station triggers temporary schedule changes for long-distance services

Surat | Gujarat — The modernization work of Surat station has now reached a crucial stage. Under the station redevelopment, the work of launching ‘through roof’ between platform numbers 02/03 and 04 is to be carried out. For this purpose, a Traffic Working Order (TWO) has been issued by the railway administration for 30 days, which will directly affect the long-distance trains plying from Surat.
Decision to operate some trains from Udhna station instead of Surat
According to the official report of the railway, this work will start from 30 March 2016 and will continue for 30 consecutive days. During this period, it has been decided to operate some trains from Udhna station instead of Surat for the convenience of passengers. It is noteworthy that train number 12936 (Surat-Bandra Terminus) will run as per its regular schedule, but the rake of train number 12935 will be used in it.
Railways allocates additional crew members to bring empty rakes
The Railways has allocated additional crew members to bring empty rakes from Udhna to Surat after the block time is over. In addition, the crew members of train number 69109 (Surat-Bharuch) will also sign-on two hours earlier than the scheduled time and take over the task of bringing empty trains from Udhna to Surat.
Changes in the schedule of these trains?
Bandra Terminus-Surat (12935): From 30 March 2026 to 28 April 2026, this train will stop at Udhna station instead of Surat and return from there only.
Surat-Amravati Express (20925): From 2 April 2026 to 26 April 2026, this train will depart from Udhna station instead of Surat every Thursday, Friday and Sunday.
Amravati-Surat Express (20926): From 30 March 2026 to 27 April 2026, this train will run every Monday, Friday and Saturday up to Udhna only and will be cancelled between Udhna-Surat.
