Ahmedabad, Gujarat – The second edition of the Chiripal Cricket Premier League (CPL) concluded on a high note this past Saturday, June 14, at the SGVP Grounds, Ahmedabad. Despite an electrifying finale being curtailed by incessant rain, the tournament celebrated shared glory, with Heritage City Titans and Karnavati Kings declared joint champions, each taking home a substantial share of the Rs 7.5 lakh prize. The vibrant conclusion was further marked by a successful blood donation drive, underscoring the league’s commitment to community welfare.

The final match, which saw Karnavati Kings post a competitive 167 for 6 in their 20 overs, was called off after the first innings due to unrelenting weather. While a clear winner couldn’t be determined on the field, the decision to award joint titles was met with a spirit of sportsmanship, reflecting the positive atmosphere that permeated CPL 2025.

“CPL 2025 has proved that Gujarat has both the infrastructure and passion to run a high-calibre league,” remarked Shri Narhari Amin, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and former President of the Gujarat Cricket Association. He lauded the league’s promoters, Ronak and Vansh Chiripal, for elevating grassroots cricket and providing a crucial platform for Gujarat’s burgeoning talent. Amin also expressed his desire to see “younger age categories like under-14 and under-16 in future editions, so we can nurture raw talent early.”

The three-week spectacle, which commenced on May 31, delivered exceptional energy and performance across 18 scheduled matches, including 15 league games and two semi-finals. Six formidable teams – Sabarmati Strikers, Gandhinagar Lions, Ahmedabad Arrows, Narmada Navigators, Heritage City Titans, and Karnavati Kings – showcased a thrilling mix of emerging and seasoned cricketing prowess.

Individual brilliance also shone brightly throughout the tournament. Priyesh Patel of Narmada Navigators was crowned Man of the Series for his exceptional batting, amassing 272 runs in just 5 matches and earning a Rs 51,000 cash prize. Kripal Barad of Heritage City Titans secured the Purple Cap for his outstanding bowling, claiming 13 wickets with an impressive economy rate, narrowly edging out his teammate Shen Patel who also bagged 13 wickets. Both the highest run-scorer and top wicket-taker received Rs 75,000 each, while every Man of the Match across fixtures was awarded Rs 10,000.

“This season, we raised the bar with structured match analytics, official scoring systems, and professional umpiring support through GCA,” added Mr. Hitesh Patel, Former Secretary, GCA, highlighting the league’s growing professionalism. “Rain may have stopped the final match, but it couldn’t dampen the spirit of this league. CPL is fast becoming a landmark sporting event in Gujarat.”

Beyond the boundaries, CPL 2025 integrated a meaningful social initiative. A blood donation camp, organized on World Blood Donor Day in collaboration with Jansahayak Trust, Hiramani Arogyadham, Indian Red Cross Society, and the Chiripal Group, saw 65 enthusiastic donors, including public representatives and CPL organizers, contribute to community well-being.

“CPL was envisioned as a professional yet inclusive platform for Gujarat’s cricketing talent,” said Mr. Ronak Chiripal, Promoter, Chiripal Group and Co-founder of CPL. “From a competitive structure to community engagement, we are proud of how Season 2 unfolded. We’re excited for what’s ahead — this is just the beginning.”

With its blend of high-octane cricket and impactful social responsibility, CPL 2025 has firmly laid the groundwork for an even grander next season, promising greater action, bigger opportunities, and broader community impact.
