Ahmedabad : The U.S. government, under the administration of former President Donald Trump, has intensified its crackdown on illegal immigration, leading to the deportation of a significant number of Indians. Over the past 12 days, a total of 332 Indians have been sent back to their homeland in three separate phases. On Sunday, a flight carrying 112 deported Indians arrived in Amritsar, including 33 individuals from Gujarat.

Of the 33 Gujaratis, four reached Ahmedabad early on Monday morning via a passenger flight, while the remaining 29 arrived in the afternoon. As soon as they landed at Ahmedabad airport, police officials took them to their respective hometowns. Among the four individuals who arrived in the morning, one belonged to Mehsana, another to Surendranagar, and a third to Gandhinagar.

Ahmedabad Couple Deported Just Two Months After Arrival in the U.S.

Among those deported from the U.S. was a couple from Ahmedabad—Chiragbhai Patel and Himanshi Patel. The couple, who had left for the U.S. just two months ago, returned to India on Monday. When approached at their residence in Simandhar Status Flats, Naranpura, Chiragbhai Patel’s mother declined to comment, stating only that her son and daughter-in-law had returned unexpectedly.

Growing Concerns Over U.S. Immigration Crackdown

The recent wave of deportations has raised concerns among Indian families, particularly those in Gujarat, where many have sought opportunities abroad. The Trump administration’s strict immigration policies have led to an increase in deportations, particularly targeting individuals who entered the U.S. illegally.

In just 12 days, 332 Indians have been deported, with 74 of them hailing from Gujarat. Many families are now re-evaluating their plans to send relatives abroad due to the heightened risk of deportation.

As deportation flights continue, authorities are closely monitoring the return of these individuals, ensuring their safe transit back to their hometowns. The impact of these deportations on families and future immigration prospects remains a topic of concern.
