Covid-19 : Rajkot issues advisory to wear mask
Apart from advising people to wear masks while stepping out of the homes or offices, the RMC has also suggested that people, who are suffering from cough and cold, should not step out.
Rajkot : Rajkot Municipal Corporation has issued an advisory asking people to wear masks, even as the number of active Covid-19 cases in Gujarat has increased to 23.

On December 21, 12 new cases were reported from the state, including 6 from Ahmedabad. An official of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation said that out of the six persons who tested positive, three have histories of international travel.
All the 23 active cases are being treated at home. Their samples have been sent for genome sequencing to ascertain the strain.
Civil Hospitals in the state are ready to meet any eventuality. The facilities set up during the second wave of COVID19 are being checked.
Superintendent of Ahmedabad’s Civil Hospital Dr. Rakesh Joshi said that there is nothing to worry about as far as the infrastructure at the Civil Hospital goes. Dr. Joshi cautioned people to be cautious.
On December 20, state health minister Rushikesh Patel had said that the new variant is not deadly and that people should just be cautious. He had also said that there won’t be any problem in hosting the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit in January 2024.
