Surat : In a significant development, two individuals involved in a life-threatening attack on the owner of a powerloom weaving unit in Anjani Industrial Estate have been apprehended by the Surat police. Their arrest brought a sense of relief to the industrial unit owners, who demanded stringent measures to ensure their safety and security. The accused were paraded within the industrial estate to showcase the police’s commitment to maintaining law and order.

This incident follows a recent call from powerloom weavers for the State Government to grant arms licenses to weavers, enabling them to protect themselves from potential criminal threats. Additionally, weavers demanded the closure of liquor dens and the illegal sale of drugs and ganja within the estate.

The harrowing attack transpired a few days ago when Anil Donda, the owner of a powerloom weaving unit at Anjani Industrial Estate, was operating a loom machine. Two assailants wielding a paddle violently attacked Anil, attempting to rob him of his hard-earned money. Fortunately, the timely arrival of fellow workers prevented a potential tragedy, leading to the capture of one of the assailants who had entered the factory with robbery on their minds.

Upon receiving the information, the Surat police swiftly responded, arresting the first accused and initiating an intensive interrogation. Subsequently, their efforts led to the apprehension of the second suspect.

The arrest and subsequent parading of the accused individuals within the industrial estate served as a clear message of law enforcement’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the residents and business owners within the Anjani Industrial Estate.

The incident has rekindled discussions about the safety of workers and business owners in the area, leading to renewed calls for measures that empower individuals to protect themselves. The weavers’ demand for arms licenses is seen as a potential solution to enhance self-protection capabilities, although it remains a subject of debate and deliberation.

The industrial estate’s residents and business owners are hopeful that the recent arrests will serve as a deterrent to potential criminals and reinforce the need for a secure and law-abiding environment within the Anjani Industrial Estate.
