Surat : The Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) is set to unveil ‘Mission 84,’ a pioneering online international platform, on October 21 in Surat.

This ambitious project, part of the SGCCI Global Connect Mission 84, aims to connect approximately 84,000 entrepreneurs from India with their counterparts in 84 countries worldwide. The primary objective of this endeavor is to boost trade and commerce, with a long-term vision of contributing to India’s goal of becoming a 5 trillion-dollar economy by 2027.

What makes this launch even more special is that for the first time, the SGCCI has extended invitations to around 84 chambers of commerce and trade associations in India, all of whom will participate in the unveiling of this online international platform. This momentous occasion aligns with the 84th foundation day celebrations of the SGCCI.

The ‘Mission 84’ platform is set to feature an exclusive database of member entrepreneurs from both India and abroad. It will offer comprehensive support in export, import, and related areas, making it a one-stop solution for entrepreneurs seeking to expand their businesses on a global scale.

Ramesh Vaghasia, the President of SGCCI, revealed, “The ‘Mission 84’ platform will be officially inaugurated in the presence of Union Minister of Fisheries, Dairy, and Animal Husbandry, Purshottam Rupala, who will play a pivotal role in connecting 84,000 Indian entrepreneurs with their international counterparts from 84 countries.” Vaghasia added, “We are expecting participation from over 40 chambers of commerce during the event on October 21.”

As a highlight of the launch event, exporters in attendance will pledge to increase their exports in the presence of Central Minister Purshottam Rupala. These pledges made in Surat will subsequently be submitted to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, underscoring the significance of this endeavor.

Vaghasia further explained that “Indian exporters and entrepreneurs from 84 countries will be officially on boarded on the ‘Mission 84’ online platform. This platform will furnish them with essential business leads, orders, and execution capabilities. Moreover, the online platform is set to incorporate advanced marketing features, providing members with insights into products and items in demand in various countries.”

The event will take place at the Platinum Hall of SGCCI’s Surat International Exhibition and Convention Centre (SIECC) in Sarsana, Surat. Delegates from numerous chambers of commerce, with over 10 chambers participating virtually, will engage in discussions concerning the trade and commerce landscape in their respective cities and states. This interaction will serve as a bridge connecting these delegates with exporters from Gujarat.

Notably, in the recent past, about 500 entrepreneurs from South Gujarat pledged exports worth a staggering Rs 17,593 crore in 2024. This significant commitment took place under the ‘Mission 84’ project, last month, in the presence of Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers, reaffirming the potential of this groundbreaking initiative in promoting international trade and commerce.
