Surat (Gujarat) : Goldi Solar, India’s most quality-conscious solar brand, announced a skill development partnership with L&T Public Charitable Trust. Both parties agreed to create a curriculum for a fast-paced skill development programme focused on solar PV manufacturing in a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
It will be the industry’s first-of-its-kind initiative to close the skilled and certified workforce gap. The two organisations believe that close collaboration will benefit the local community by improving their skills and employability.
Goldi Solar intends to create jobs at the ground level. The skill development programme will aid the company’s goal of hiring over 5000 people across various functions by fiscal year 2025.
To address the current shortages in the solar industry, a special curriculum is being developed, and Goldi Solar will provide weekend workshops and on-the-job training to Anil Naik Technical Training Center (ANTTC) students on emerging technologies in order to bridge the skill gap and make them industry ready.
Goldi Solar’s Founder and Managing Director, Capt. Ishver Dholakiya, stated, “Together, these organisations will be able to significantly increase the skilled workforce in solar manufacturing and improve employability. The industry is expanding at an incredible rate, with the goal of realising the Make in India vision. As a result, a skilled and industry-ready workforce will be developed, bringing the country one step closer to its goal of becoming energy independent through renewable energy.”
Mr. K Ramakrishnan, Trustee of L&T Public Charitable Trust, announced the training programme, saying, “This collaboration will allow us to teach young people skills and prepare them for future opportunities in the solar industry. By providing theoretical and practical industrial training and experience, the programme prepares students for a smooth transition from vocational to professional work culture. We have created a cutting-edge facility and an industry-friendly curriculum. The intensive programme will be taught by a dedicated faculty team, followed by on-the-job training at Goldi Solar.”
Goldi Solar Co-Founder and Director Bharat Bhut stated, “Skilled workers are difficult to come by, posing a significant barrier to economic growth. The unique curriculum is intended to be developed and delivered at Anil Naik Technical Training Center (ANTTC), with the practical aspects taking place at Goldi Solar Navsari. As a result, solar companies will benefit from a skilled and trained workforce that is ready to deliver from day one.”
