Gir Somnath, Gujarat : A distressing event has emerged in Morasa village of Sutrapada taluka in the Gir Somnath district. A leopard known for its predatory behavior attacked a three-year-old girl when she was washing her hands outside her home on Sunday night.
On Monday morning, the discovery of the girl’s blood-stained clothes and the remains of her body was made in a ditch near the village. In the wake of this incident, a sense of apprehension has permeated the entire area.

The girl’s father, Rameshbhai Chavda, stated, “I returned home from the farm at 8:00 pm.” During our dinner, an incident occurred between 8:30 and 9:00 pm. The three of us were gathered around the dinner table when the girl stepped outside to wash her hands. Out of nowhere, a leopard lunged and seized her by the neck. We pursued the leopard in an attempt to rescue her, but ultimately, we were left empty-handed.
As we ventured further, we discovered my daughter’s body, and just beyond that, we noticed traces of her blood. Subsequently, we notified the forest department at 11:30 PM. Following an exhaustive search throughout the night, we discovered her lifeless body at 7 am on Monday morning.
Rameshbhai, a dedicated farm labourer, faced a tragic loss when one of his two daughters was killed by a leopard. In a tragic development, authorities discovered the remains of a girl early this morning in a ditch located in Morasa village. Authorities are taking steps to apprehend the leopard that has been preying on humans. Five cages have been set up in the vicinity. The Forest Department has relocated the girl’s remains for a post-mortem examination and has initiated appropriate actions.
