Gujarat CM greeted the head of the Dawoodi Bohra community and joined in his birthday celebrations.
Surat (Gujarat) [India], November 26: Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel called on His Holiness Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin, the head of the Dawoodi Bohra community to greet him on the eve of his 78th birthday celebrations at Zampa Bazaar in the walled city here on Thursday.
Gujarat CM, Bhupendra Patel who was in the city to attend the biggest ‘get-together event of the BJP drove straight to Zampa Bazaar in the evening and greeted his Holiness Syedna Saifuddin. A celebratory procession was held by community members on the eve of His Holiness’s birthday. Syedna Saifuddin, alongside Bhupendrabhai Patel, observed the procession from a specially constructed stage in Zampa Bazaar.
His Holiness Syedna Saifuddin has chosen to have his birthday officially celebrated on the 20th of Rabiul Akhar, the 4th month of the Islamic calendar, to coincide with the birthday of his father and predecessor, Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin, who passed away in 2014.
During their interaction, his Holiness expressed his gratitude to the Chief Minister for the birthday greetings and for being part of the occasion. The Chief Minister sought Syedna’s blessings and the community’s continued support in various socio-welfare programs for the development of the state and the nation as a whole.
Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin has been in Surat and Dumas for the past couple of weeks. Senior officials, professors, and graduates of Aljamea-tus-Saifiyah Academy and other community members have also been in Surat to attend the annual educational programmes called ‘Al-Istifada al-Ilmiyyah’.
