Surat : If you want to operate the business in Dadra and Nagar Haveli (DNH), you ought to pay ‘Hafta’ (protection money) to the political parties.
Audio has gone viral in the union territory of DNH, where the caller allegedly identifying himself as speaking from the BJP office, is demanding protection money from one of the company owners.
Sources in DNH said the voice of the caller allegedly resembles one Alok Sharma alias Bunty, who is a close confidant of DNH’s BJP president, Ajay Desai. In conversation with the company owner over the phone, Alok Sharma refers to one Dipak, who is working with the company. He (Alok) is heard saying that Dipak is not responding and he is making him a fool for the last fortnight.
Alok is heard saying that he is calling for the last time. If the company owner is not depositing the protection money, he will have to prepare for the worst situation.
At some point in the conversation, Alok says, “I know the Finance Minister Kanu Desai, who is from Valsad is also taking protection money. I know about the companies paying him protection money”
TBT sent the viral audio to DNH’s BJP president, Ajay Desai for his comments. Desai, however, is yet to respond to the TBT’s message.
